Join us in this 11 day/10 night residential retreat on Kauai, the Garden Isle, and you will experience an immersion in the sacred and magical art of Hawaiian Lomilomi. Heal yourself in this spiritual retreat while you learn new ways to heal others. Lomilomi is described by teacher Aunty Margaret Machado as “the loving touch--a connection between heart, hand, and soul with the source of all life.” Based on ancient kahuna traditions, Hawaiian lomilomi uses sacred HA breathing techniques, visualization, Mana energy work and the rhythms of the Hula dance; it works gently but deeply into the recipient's body, mind and spirit, using continuous flowing wavelike strokes and nurturing the body. It is an experience that overwhelms the mind with sensations and at the same time communicates unconditional love, freedom, joy and acceptance to the inner self. Unlike many massage modalities, LomiLomi Temple Style works toward the emotional/energetic sources of pain and stress to release the root causes, not just alleviate symptoms. In this residential retreat, you will feel the power of Aloha and recognize the unlimited potential we each have through working in harmony with the universal principles, creating transformation for yourself and those you touch. Hawaiian Hula dancer Over the course of the workshop, you will learn to incorporate the techniques and flow of Lomilomi in the front, back and above and below the body at once and to incorporate the use of hula dance and heated stones into your bodywork practice. Special Guests: Kahuna Harry Uhane Jim and Kumu Karen Leialoha Carroll Sacred Bodywork is blessed to have two special quests again this year sharing their mana'o with us: Kahuna Harry Uhane Jim, the author of "Wise Secrets of Aloha" and Kumu Karen Leialoha Carroll our featured Hawaiian teacher in our Kauai Residential Retreats. She will be teaching again Hawaiian values, Hawaiian chants, Ho'oponopono of the emotional body, listening for messages of spirit, opu huli and healing with shells. Our Sacred Hale Luana: The location of this retreat will definitely facilitate the feelings of Aloha and abundance, on a hill within sight of the ocean! The house has room for 14 with shared accommodations. The lush surroundings allow you to connect with nature and feel one with the earth. Wireless internet allows you to stay in touch with anyone you wish to...the private location allows you to plead "connection problems" when you need time alone. Bedrooms overlook lush surroundings. Days will allow plenty of time for meditation, contemplation, processing, one-on-one connections, beach time and exploring beautiful Kauai. We will make sure you are well-fed with breakfast, lunch and dinner to recharge your mana and nourish your body, mind and spirit.
