This two-day class is designed to give you the flavor of Traditional Thai Massage, and it is perfect for those interested in exploring a new modality but unsure if this ancient technique is right for you. This is a practical, hands-on class designed to give you tools you can immediately incorporate into your existing massage practice. This course is appropriate for participants at all levels with no pre-requisites.

Traditional Thai Massage - Front Position

Thai Massage Front Position

This is the first part of a 212-hour course in Traditional Thai Massage. This first segment (24 hours) explores the history, development and foundations of Thai Massage as a healing art and provides students with the training and hands-on practice to perform a Traditional Thai Massage in the front position. Emphasis throughout the course is placed on proper body mechanics, clear explanations and demonstrations of every step and the healing benefits, indications and contraindications associated with the different positions.

 

Traditional Thai Massage - Level II

Thai Massage Sitting, Side-Lying and Back Positions 

This is the second portion of a 212-hour course in Traditional Thai Massage. In this, the second part of the course (24 hours) students learn the foundations of performing Traditional Thai Massage in the Sitting, Side-Lying and Back positions. Emphasis throughout the course is placed on proper body mechanics, clear explanations and demonstrations of every step and the healing benefits, indications and contraindications associated with the different positions.

 

Traditional Thai Massage - Level III

This is the third part of a 212 CE-hour course in Traditional Thai Massage. This 32-hour segment reviews and expands on the material from the first two segments, fine tuning the students' knowledge, hands-on experience, quality of touch and transitions and introducing advanced positions and variations of positions not previously covered; it will cover all the selected positions that can be applied on the massage table as well. Emphasis throughout the course is placed on proper body mechanics, clear explanations and demonstrations of every step and the healing benefits, indications and contraindications associated with the different positions.

Thai Massage is traditionally done on a mat on the floor, but much of the work can easily be adapted to the table. In these hands-on classes, you will learn a little about the basics of Traditional Thai Massage and how to incorporate Thai techniques into your existing practice.

Hydrotherapy and bodywork are two of the cornerstones of Thai Traditional Medicine. In this hands-on class, you will learn to incorporate the use of luk pra kob (steamed bundles of Thai herbs) into your Thai massage with wide-reaching benefits.

Thai Facial Massage

Very often, the face does not get much attention during a massage but it is one of the most sacred aspects of the massage. Energetically you can work the entire body through the energy lines of the face and you are addressing the highest chakras. In this class, you will learn great hands-on techniques and three specific massage protocols for the face, neck and shoulders from the Thai massage tradition to add to your skill set.

This fun Thai hands-on class combines several elements to provide you with an amazing "full body" treatment by focusing on Sen energetic bodywork, acupressure of the marma points, and reflex areas of the hands and the feet. Students will learn to improve energy flow throughout the body, and also will learn the Thai energy anatomy of the hands and feet and hands on techniques for working on the hands and the feet.

The Thai Detox Massage incorporates Thai Reflexology- Energy Work, Hot/Cold Herbal Compress treatments, whole body dry brush applications and Ayurvedic Abdominal Massage. The fusion of these massage cleansing techniques stimulates internal organs and works on the muscular, circulatory and lymphatic systems to ease tension, improve blood/lymph circulation, remove toxins from the major abdominal organs, eliminate waste, clear energetic blockages and balance energy ki, or life force, to improve overall health.

LomiLomi Hawaiian Massage is among the oldest healing modalities on the planet. LomiLomi is an experience that overwhelms the mind with sensations and at the same time communicates acceptance, unconditional love, totally nurtures  the body and mind and reconnects the recipient with the spirit. In these courses, you will learn the sacred Huna traditions upon which Hawaiian Temple Bodywork is built,  shamanic rituals, HA breath, Hula dance, and learn to give a flowing Lomi Lomi massage using the free-flowing forearm strokes for which LomiLomi is famous. LomiLomi will change the way you think, feel, move and breathe; you will see why LomiLomi is easy on your body and delightful for your clients. All Lomi movements are demonstrated, followed by ample time for hands-on practice.

Level III deepens your understanding of the principles and energy flows underlying a transformational Lomilomi session. Lomilomi is pure energy work and has the power to reshape the recipient's worldview and self-image. In this level, you as the therapist learn to be the strong container to facilitate that rebirth, as well as the challenges and blockages you may face within yourself and your clients.

    Sacred Hot Stone Massage - Levels I & II

Cool facial massageStones have been used in various healing techniques for thousands of years, and the spa industry (and your clients) rediscovered the benefits in the past few years. In this two-day program, you will learn about the history of healing with stones, indications/contraindications/cautions for working with the stones, how to charge and communicate with the stones and how to transmit healing energy through the stones. Because it is one of the most beautiful, this course is taught using the Hawaiian approach and style of working with the stones. All techniques are fully demonstrated, followed by hands-on practice, so you can add this popular treatment to your profile.

        MDMA- Multi-Dimensional Movement Arts- Watershop Levels I & II

Learn a new Bodywork modality in the water. The art of using movement in the medium of water to create dynamic balance. Specific actions, patterns and waveforms promote re-organization, re-education, rehabilitation, relaxation, rejuvenation...dynamic balance. This continuous process of attunement can lead to heightened states of awareness and bliss.


 

        Couples Massage- Private Class - 4 hours

This experiential couples massage class is about opening to love, learn basic massage techniques, and renewing connections. A loving, happy relationship is built and strengthened by giving time, energy and attention to effective communication, heartfelt understanding, fun, appreciation and quality time spent together.

Our private or semi-private Continuing Education classes are designed to fine-tune someone's existing massage skills; they are perfect forums for practicing new modalities, reinforcing your body mechanics or getting feedback on specific techniques. Private lessons are also available for any of the CE programs we offer but they must be scheduled and will be priced higher than regularly scheduled classes. Privates are available Mon-Sun at various times depending not only on your schedule, but ours as well. Please contact us for details.

Massage Clinics

 

 

Our CE massage courses are accompanied by supervised clinical practice, which allows graduated students to gain practical experience through the performance of massage therapy in a clinical setting. Our goal for each graduated student with this clinical experience is to reinforce your confidence, polish your massage techniques, refresh the sequential flow we saw in class, and enhance your massage hands on-skills. Clinic participation is limited and requires a confirmed reservation.

To complete the Thai Certification Program you are welcome to repeat any class you want as a review, when you register for the rest of the program. You would only need to pre-register for the levels you have not yet taken in order to save your space in the class. 

 

Sacred Bodywork will contact you to confirm the registration and discounted payment.

 

Please Note:

  • Dates for continuing education massage classes are generally updated once per month and are subject to change

  • Early Registration is 30 days prior to the scheduled class

  • Transfers. Registrants can transfer to another seminar is space is available. Registrants will receive a full value voucher good for one year, for future seminar. All request must be made in written or on-line.

Class Cancellation:  

We strive to hold classes as scheduled. However, If we must cancel a class for any reason, we will notify any registered attendees as soon as possible and offer an alternative class date or a refund in full. We accept no further liability beyond the cost of the class itself.

 

If low enrollment or other circumstances occur beyond our control, we reserve the right to cancel classes 10 business days before they begin. If that occurs, those registered will be notified and will receive a full refund of their paid workshop fee.

 

We make reasonable efforts to notify registered students as soon as a class has been cancelled. We'll e-mail cancellation notices to all registered students on record, and in most cases, we'll also try to personally contact them

 

We advise students to not make final travel arrangements until they receive registration confirmation via e-mail. Sacred Bodywork is not liable for any travel-related expenses or expenses related to any changes in travel arrangements.

 

Refund Policies

All of our classes are scheduled in good faith, and we keep the class size small in order to provide the maximum personal attention to each participant. That means we depend on the presence of each registered participant in order to have a viable class.  If you register for one of our classes and find you cannot attend, please notify us as soon as possible:

 

  • With advance notice of at least 5 days, we can reschedule you to another class or issue a full refund - less a $25 administrative charge per registrant

  • With anything less than 5 days of advance notice, we will credit your prepaid amount toward another scheduled class within the next calendar year

  • If you do not attend your scheduled class without making prior arrangements with us, all amounts are credited towards a future class, good for one year. Exceptions will be considered if you are able to provide written documentation of an emergency

  • Once you begin a class, all fees are non-refundable but if you find an emergency prevents you from completing the class, you may make arrangements with us to complete the program on another scheduled date

  • Any classes scheduled specifically on request, such as Spa Staff Training courses or small group classes are non-refundable but may be rescheduled with advance notice
